Random stuff including an etching :P

Hey everyone!!!!

I've been up to a lot lately including back to etching! If you remember the photo I posted here a few weeks ago about an image that appeared on the altar, here is my etching rendition of it :D This is just the first proof, I need to work on it some more as well as do the aquatint for it. Etching is a very fun process that involves using soft ground, hard ground, or dry point on a copper or zinc plate. If you're using either grounds you need to etch the zinc or copper plate in different acids for some time (20 mins for zinc; also if you leave it too long in acid it'll start to bite a little here and there like small little marks). After it's etched clean off with mineral spirits and alcohol then you're ready to pull prints! I plan on touching it up a bit more, not sure if I want to do it dry point or soft ground again. I do want to do aquatint after which is going to give it the shadow/color effect!

Here's a choker that I finished all pink :D

That's it for now! I have some fall cards to post up for next time!
Take care everyone and God bless!!!

Something I wanted to share :)

As a Christian/Catholic we're all called to be witnesses and testify about miracles. Here is some miraculous that I saw this morning at church and after sharing it on facebook and seeing how others saw the same I would like to share it on here to so that others can see it!

As I was praying and looking up at the altar I saw that the shadow of the flower bushels formed the three Wise Men (it looks like the first King is standing up, the middle one is about to prostrate and lowest one is already kneeling down) and Baby Jesus to the side of them. I hope this image inspires us especially for this upcoming Advent (begins right after Thanksgiving, time goes by fast!). God bless you all and have an amazing Sunday!!!

An ankle bracelet, or a regular bracelet!

I love to make bracelets to match the necklaces and earrings that I make! Sometimes I buy small strands that are just enough for a single bracelet, or I buy chunky beads and showcased them with smaller beads for fun.
Normally after I make bracelets such as the ones above, I wind up with several extra beads. And half the time I don't know what to do with them! They are too big to go on a card or to be used as scrapbook embellishments (I really need to take photos of the old 12 by 12 albums I used to do lol). Sooo instead I clump together several similar shades and make a charm bracelet :D
For this one I thought of creamy fall colors, so all of the leftover beads went in here!

For this one I thought of the ocean and I threw in several shades of leftover blues!

Speaking of bracelets this reminds me of a Doo Wop song by the Pyramids!

Seaport mini album

Good morning everyone!!!

Hope everyone is having a blessed morning!! Here are some pages I scrapped up of our visit to the seaport :D I like to keep scrapbooks a little simple, with more emphasis on stampings, I don't like to layer too many things like I do in cards lol I used some gold embossing powder that I bought at Gary M. Burlington in MA at a convention last year along with some red orange with gold glitter from Michaels. What I learned from Pinterest is that you can use a used dryer sheet instead of  buying an embossing buddy so that the images don't come out spotted. I've only had the spotting problem with black embossing powder, all of the others have come out fine thank God! The only spotting I like is with white, it looks like little snowflakes! I also used rub ons on most of the pages, they were too cute! It's hard to see in the photos but I'm wearing one of  my polka dot dresses :D (I'm looking forward to looking through old photographs throughout the years to see if I can make an all polka dot album, I've worn polka dots forever it seems lol!), while my hubby(now ex) is wearing a sailor hat. I thought it would look really good on him and of course it did!

One of the most wonderful summers :D (shortish scribbling plus 3 necklaces)

This is another one of those necklaces inspired by Audrey Hepburn :D

Here's another inspiration! I actually forgot to put the ring in this photo, let's see if I can put a tutorial on that soon! I've been meaning to try to do some tut's but once I get started I forget to take pictures!

This pattern I got from a Beading book that I bought from www.Hamiltonbook.com Request a catalogue you'll find great things there!

Till next time! I'm currently working on the seaport scrapbook! Will hopefully have that done with some pictures along with some cards that I need to make! God bless you all!!!

Let me be your teddy bear :P

Hey everyone!
I love Teddy bears, so I was inspired by this awesome song by Elvis:

I decided to create this necklace! I bought the little teddy cameo from ebay and the beads are all glass from Michals.

Here's a closeup of the little cutie :D he also wears a crown, I think thats symbolic for the king of rock and roll lol!

This is something else that I've been working on! The stamp is from Joanns, Crafty Secrets. I'm pretty sure although no name was on the stamp that I saw, that it is the Dolly Dingle doll. I have several paper doll books of her, you might also call them the "Campbell Soup" kids lol! I did these cards for several people that I know that are hospitalized and/or have had surgery. A card is a nice way of saying I'm thinking of you and you're in my prayers in your time of need! Send a card and a prayer to someone who is in need of some cheering up and a little love today!

MTA Museum Mini album!

This is a mini album I did of me and a friend at the MTA Museum

I used several K and Company pages as well as this travel page set that I got from Amazing Savings I can't remember the brand name of it. The stickers and diecut(you and me) are from K and Company and my minds eye

Pages from K and Co, stamped circle postage stamps using various distress inks. Frames made using spellbinders and a blue shiny giftboxes (what a way to recycle pretty giftboxes!). The borders are from the Martha Stewart punch bangle chain.

These pages need a little something more. The papers are textured from K and company (12x12 pad cut into 4 equal 6x6 to fit in the 6x6 albums)

Doily dies from Mariannes or Cheery lynn( need to check the packaging if I still have it or online; I store my dies in a case from artbin). Other die cut objects from K and co

Circles are Heart circle and lacy circle from spellbinders

K and co stickers and paper

This page needs more work lol

Where are you little star?

On my earrings and bracelet of course!  Hey everyone!!! Hope everyone has had a blessed great day! Here's an awesome oldies song plus a bracelet and some earrings I made :)

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star By the Elegants

There are many great doo wop songs with the word "star" in it but if I post all of them up this will become more like my old xanga (it was a rock n roll blog started it in jr high got caught up with so many other things that I closed it down) instead of a regular craft blog lol!

The stars I bought at Michaels yesterday. They had a 50 off sale on the beads so of course I just had to go! These starfish beads came in a pack of 9; faceted, very shimmery, and beautiful!

The bracelet is entirely crystalized, faceted bicones from crystazzi and the faceted blue helix, everything I got from Michaels. On ebay you can find the faceted helix beads for amazing prices, 100 for 4 bucks and some changed, not bad when Michaels has about 10/12 for 3 bucks. I originally bought these helix about 2 years ago at Michaels and they still carry them!

The stars were enough for two sets of earrings!

Here's a choker set that I made using the faceted helix beads that I bought from ebay. Same great quality!

A lovely son, a bracelet,, and a card :D

Hey Everyone!!!

Hope everyone is having a blessed day :D Speaking of blessed, here's a lovely song by the Carpenters, "Bless the Beast and the Children". I love her voice she was truly and amazing singer and has many great hits too!

Here are some photos of some other things I made a few weeks ago that I didn't get a chance to post and take photos of them :)

This is an achor bracelet I made around the same time that I did the necklace but didn't finish this in time for the mermaid parade sadly :(( the pattern I got from an old beading magazine. I used all glass beads from michaels and exholite(the plain white ones) had them for a while finally put them to good use lol!

This is a card I did for my father's birthday last month :) I used a stamp that I bought from one of the conventions. I decided to share it since it is the same stamp I used in the shrinky dink earrings a few posts back. I used the second big circle of the spellbinders circles (the regular ones not grand), as well as one of the smallest (can't remember if it's the second smallest or the very smallest) triangle of the lacy triangles. I added two bobunny embellishments on the corners as well.

Some more chokers and an interesting video :)

Hey Everyone!!

Hope everyone is having a blessed Sunday! I always start off every Sunday by attending mass. Here is a video of something that I saw a while ago that I've been meaning to share. There are many videos of different and more saints on youtube. The fact that the bodies of these Saint do not corrupt is truly a miracle! Many of these Saints intercede for us the way Moses and all the Prophets interceded for the Israelites, it is not that we see them or worship them as God. As mentioned in these videos many of the people are cured from the oils that are secreted from these Saints. These videos provide testimony to the many miracles performed by Christ!

Here are some choker necklaces that I have been working on :) I get all of my beads from the usual places, firemountaingems.com, acmoore michaels, beadaholique, and other ebay stores. I try making the set for the most part, I have yet to do the earrings and bracelet for the pink and green ones as well as the one with the cameo! More to come when I get around to making them, I have been doing all sorts of things and with another heatwave coming in I turn it into productivity lol! Either by going to interesting places, crafting, reading the bible (up to the second book of Kings) and I've been watching old movies that I haven't seen in ages! Just yesterday I saw Breakfast at Tiffany which is where I'm getting the inspiration for these choker collars!

I'm all choked up :P Italian festival and some choker necklaces!

Hey Everyone!

Sorry for being gone a bit, all over the place as usual! Went to an awesome NYC Firefighter museum where they had lots of great old fashion trucks and a touching WTC memorial. Also went to the Italian festival and several other places despite the on and off heatwave lol! Plenty of crafting got done during the intense heatwave too lots of photos below :D

Here are two photos of the feast. It's basically a Catholic feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel(same name of the church) in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. It consists of the Giglio a really tall Italian post, I have a picture of it but it doesn't want to upload. The last time I went about 4 years ago the post was Gold with beige, now it's light blue which gives it a more heavenly feel :D Part of the giglio can be seen in the first photo. Lots of fun Italian music is played as seen by the band :). As Catholics Saints are an important part of religion, they help intercede for us as Moses did in the old testament for the Israelites. Not only that but they're are great role models that allow us to be like them to be closer to God/Jesus :)

Here are some beading photos from things that I created. I thank God constantly for this great artistic gift!

I was browsing through ebay for different cameos and things when I came upon this Audrey Hepburn ring (apparently the person selling didn't know who she was and just referred to the ring as "queen portrait ring) for a buck + free shipping! Anywho I kept checking back frequently to see if the seller had more items and last week I saw this pendant of her for 1.09 + free shipping along with several other pendants! I wasn't fond of the chain that it came with so I decided to weave this choker and put the pendant on there! The black faceted beads are from blue moon beads (firemountaingems.com), the clear faceted rondelle beads are from michaels, and the freshwater pearls from ebay, 2 bucks free shipping about 100 beads on that strand!

Here is another choker that I made during the weekend using mixed reds. I used various beads from michaels, ac moore, and firemountaingems.com. The briolettes that are hanging are swarovski, I'm not sure if firemountaingems.com carries them anymore. I originally ordered one for a pendant but my dad told me to order several more since they reminded him of the drops of precious blood of Jesus. I have four but I only put up three, which reminds me of the Divine Trinity, Father, Son, Holy Spirit :)

Here is another bracelet I've been working on using freshwater pearls and faceted rondelles.

Here's a "reversible choker". I glued the cameo onto felt (beadwork 2007 magazine I believe, I keep several pages of magazines of things I want to do and what not I've been subscribed to several bead magazines since 2005), and then I sewed rondelles and drops on to it.The original pattern was to make a bracelet, instead I attached a "buckle" (piece of felt) so that I can pass the ribbon through. The ribbon is actually from an old victoria's secret box that I found really pretty!
